Unhappy with these loans highlighting local cultural, dozens of artists from Bali staged a protest on Saturday, August 22nd, 2009, at the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park in Bali. At the protest meeting, Professor Wayan Dibia ISI submitted a written statement Theft Malaysia Bali's cultural heritage to a representative of the local House of Representatives. Quoted by the national news agency Antara, Dibia said: "Based on our observation, the dancers of Malaysia is shown in the ad were two graduate students at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Denpasar, called Lusia and Wiwik. The photo was taken by the Registry of Bali two or three years ago. " In response, Ida Ayu Agung Mas of the House of Representatives, said: "As a representative of a people, I support the protest and will immediately notify the government of Malaysia on the case." The incident has reignited calls for the Government to secure copyrights and patents on the icons on the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia.
